iphone xr won't pair with car bluetooth

My new iPhone XR won't pair with the bluetooth in my car (Honda Jazz 2012). It will pick up bluetooth speakers but not the car bluetooth. The car bluetooth will pick up older iPhones but not the iPhone XR. I can see others are having similar issues with the new generation iPhones. Has anyone found a solution.
