I may finally have the answer! According to a co-worker who was at the Apple Store several times over this issue... Go to settings>Cellular>Cellular Data Options - and make sure the Enable LTE is turned to Data ONLY and not Voice & Data. He said since he has done this a few months ago, it has stopped dropping those 2 second calls. It DOES NOT do anything to your voice calls. I did it yesterday and am still talking just fine on the phone... and, it hasn't dropped one yet.

Looking for an update.

Is anyone having success with their phones?

I am on my second iphone XS from Apple with Verizon service. It is a work supplied phone. I still get dropped calls but they don't happen right away like they used to. Now it just happens randomly. First I will have trouble hearing the person then the call fails. I have also noticed that the range on the antenna is 1/3 the distance from my phone 6 when it comes to my Bose portable speaker. I used to be able to go one floor up or down and outside on the deck while grilling and the music would play. Now I get any farther than 12 feet away from it and the fades out.

My experience so far: I had the SIM replaced, phone wiped to factory settings, tier-2 support from Verizon with IT rep from our work, every tip or trick suggested by other users with same problem. When I sent my first phone back I had to use a temporary iphone 6 (with the same SIM card). Zero dropped calls during the period. New iphone XS arrived. Put the same SIM in it and the calls started dropping again.

This is the worst iphone I have ever owned. I have asked our IT department to trade in my phone for an older Iphone 8 because I can't be dropping calls with customers. We have multiple co-works with the same problem and when you call each other it is nearly impossible to carry a full conversation without the call being dropped.

I am so disappointing that Apple hasn't addressed this issue yet. The phone is a lemon.

ive been talking to someone on the net who used to work in technical at rotten apple and they have confirmed that the iPhone XS has a billion dollar problem that may also be carried over to the new phone out in september as the iPhone x had a call dropping issue aswell and apple often comment that it could be something in the software that saved and is downloaded again and again

Dear Apple,

I am deeply concerned that your organisation thinks that it is acceptable to do nothing practical to resolve this issue.

I am deeply concerned that day by day my warranty / product guarantee is slowly running out.

We require an answer to this problem. "Constant Call Drops"

If we do not get an answer to this problem I will be forced to start a web site dedicated to the funding a Group Action against Apple.

Please respond ?

Just an update on my previous post (above). It's been a few weeks now and I have had zero dropouts or signal issues except in the remote areas where there just no signal. In fact, my iPhone XS is performing way better than my iPhone 6 did. It's also performing better than my work phone which is a Google Pixel 3. That's not a hit against the Pixel at all (it's an awesome phone) because the service provider is different (ATT vs Google FI).

the only way to solve this is to get rid of i phone i have bought a Samsung after having iPhones since they first came out but funny now i can make and receive calls with no issue Apple have no intention of sorting this issue out ive been trying to work with them since jan19 and even tweeting them and the CEO direct has got nothing, ive even joked a fake iPhone would be better and apple employees have agreed?

good luck

On to my 3rd XS Max since June, what a joke. such a lot of money for such an unreliable phone. I picked up phone number 3 yesterday and still the calls drop. Nearly 2 hours in the Apple store, they overlooked me because their system went down. Now currently I'm talking to Apple, I've been on the phone for 30 minutes, I'm now on hold after been offering to go back into the Apple store. I don't think so. Fuel, expensive city parking, wear and tear; and my time. We have 3 other phones in the house, an XS and 2 XRs and have no problems with them. I'm so frustrated. I've even changed service providers so they can't blame them.

I am having this exact issue right now with my Iphone XS Max. I have been to Apple Care then to Sprint. And nobody can tell me the problem. They tell me its fixed and a day later its back to dropping every call. This problem started in December 2019 and still continues today. I've done the Network Reset, Replaced SIM card, full reset of phone and backed up from Cloud. I just got this phone in Sept so its not like I can get out of the Sprint Lease. Has anybody had any luck with Apple or their carrier replacing this phone with a different model. I rather go back to an old model that keep this piece of crap.
