tv4k sideways

I have set my tv4k to screen saver using my photos library. However, many photos come up sideways or upside down. In photos they are all in the correct orientation. How do I correct this? Thanks

It does not happen with photos made on a current iPhone. Possibly the camera that made those images writes the orientation in a way that Photos (Mac) is able to interpret, but the Apple TV fails at that?

Do you know the make and model of the camera that made those images? (Exif ⓘ might reveal that.)

Re-saving from an editor should put the orientation up-as-up as default.

Thanks for that information. It surprises me that this happened with an image from an Apple device. I can’t seem to replicate that with my iPhone.

Are all these photos in an iCloud Photo Library? Does the Apple TV access these through the Photos app (iCloud directly), or through the Computers app﹥Photos (Home Sharing)? I was thinking, maybe it is not accessing the full resolution images, and thereby missing some meta data in the process?

The photos that show up sideways or upside down were taken with an iPhone 7 Plus.

The photos were taken from albums that we had collected for many years past. We did not notice the problem until we selected all photos to be used in the Apple TV 4K screen saver. There are over 1,000 photos, what editor would I use, and can I select all of the photos for one re-save? Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the quick answer. I checked and apple TV was set on my computer for Home Sharing, however, it was set to iPhoto, not photo. I changed the setting to Photo, I will shut down and restart everything this afternoon. On a good day our wi-fi speed is 3MBPS, and we run Pandora with the screen saver. That slows wi-fi way down for us, to sometimes less the 1MBPS. Could that be the problem if the setting change does not work? Thanks again.
