Garageband 10.2.0 update to 10.3.2

I have been trying to update GarageBand 10.2.0 to 10.302 via the Apple Store for two days but however I try it the wheel just keeps turning for hours, tried changing WiFi, router, logging out logging in, turning off etc. Tried everything I can think of to no avail.

I have a good internet connection and downloading to a iMac (24-inch, Early 2009), running El Capitan 10.11.6, with a 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 memory. Any help appreciated.

it's surprising that the store is allowing you to even try to D/L it because, unfortunately, the latest version of GB will not run on your system, it requires macOS 10.12 or later:
