Is iPhone XR compatible with USB 2.0?

I have a very strange behaviour of my iPhone XR. It is not recognised at iTunes on my freshly installed Windows. I have tried all the instructions regarding reinstallation of drivers, but it doesn't seem to have any effect.

It works fine on another newer PC though. What I thought might be an issue is that my PC doesn't have any USB 3.0 or 3.1 ports (only 2.0). So, the question is whether iPhone XR supports USB 2.0.

Can't see that in specifications either.

Does your computer acknowledge your iPhone at all? Any "ding" type noise?

Have you tried all USB ports?

Yes, it does run Windows 10. It's actually not that ancient a device. Just not the best model at the time. I think it is from 2011 or so

Is your old windows machine able to run iTunes 12.8? That is required for use with an iOS 12 device. iTunes 12 requires Windows 7 or newer. Check your version of iTunes and update it if necessary.
