Why is the new Apple 4K TV only showing 1080P HDR in my settings. The spec I read before buying the product showed a greater picture quality. I’ve just bought the latest 4K Panasonic TV and feel the Apple TV lets it down. Feel a bit upset with Apple. I’ve bought into Apple for years now...owning most of its products. Can this be fixed.
That wouldn’t be an issue with the device, but rather your connection. Make sure you’re using a high speed HDMI cable certified for for 4K/HDR (18GBPS). Also check the port, there are TVs that only allow full bandwidth on certain ports.

Your a star, I’ve just gone into settings run a cable check and it switched it 4k HDR. Thanks that’s brill.
Thank you for the reply, I’ll check with my Sound and vision dealer. The cable I used was gold plated Monster HDMI Cable.
Not a problem. If you still have the packaging you could take a look as it will list its capability.

You can also go into settings - video and audio, and run 'check cable'
