Turn off iCloud Music Library
I only use iTunes to listen to purchased content downloaded to my device. I am not signed in to iCloud and have never used it. When looking at my song list in iTunes, some songs have a cloud with arrow icon. If I understand correctly, this means the song is stored in the cloud (how? I have all iCloud services turned off). How did some of my content get deleted from the device (I know it was there because I saw it downloading when I purchased it) and moved to the cloud?
Looking for a way to disable this feature, I found instructions to turn off iCloud Music Library in the General Preferences in iTunes. However, there is no such checkbox in my preferences (I'm using the latest version at this time:12.9.2.5).
Is there a way to completely turn off all streaming/cloud functions in iTunes (I use it on MacOS) and to make sure that all my content is downloaded to local storage without exception, and never deleted without my explicit permission?
