Ipod Classic 160GB grey screen with ok to disconnect and a tick, abnormal font.

Hi all,

Recently got a new laptop at work and when I plugged my ipod classic 160GB into it and crashed and now there is a grey screen unlike the usual and it comes up with 'ok to disconnect' or 'do not disconnect' when its connected to the USB.

As I said, the screen is unusual and not the normal freeze. I've tried holding the center and menu screen for both 12 and 6 seconds and it hasn't made a difference. I don't know whats happened, I have all my music backed up so I am willing to do anything that is recommended. The drive is not recognised in windows explorer.

I've attached a picture for reference, any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
