Notifications don’t push when running fullscreen app

I was playing the game(fullscreen) and waiting for my friends’ iMessages, I’ve been playing for half an hour, and still no reply of iMessage. Then I quited the game and found they had sent me dozens of messages and Mac didn’t push the notifications! I tested other chat apps like Wechat, they doesn't push either. I heard that if you’re watching video(full screen) on safari, it has the same problem.

Full screen apps don't affect Notifications, but playing videos in full screen mode will. They will be suppressed.

Why? During a presentation to a conference room full of dour professionals the presenter tended to become embarrassed when a WeChat sext message (for example) appeared during their Keynote sales pitch. Apparently this detracted from the illusion of sophistication they wished to convey.

They complained, Apple listened, no more Notifications in full screen video. I assume that includes games. Running the game in windowed mode ought to fix it. Make the window large.
