Update Verification is frozen

Trying to update my iPhone 5 but it is stuck on update requested and wont shift. Any ideas?

Thanks for the post in Apple Support Communities. I understand you're running into an issue updating your iPhone 5.


To double-check, which iOS version are you running currently under Settings > General > About, and which version are you trying to install?


I have a link with some great steps that should help with this type of issue, found under the "If you can’t reach the update server or can’t verify the update" section: Get help with over-the-air iOS updates. If it's not progressing beyond "Update requested" on your current Wi-Fi network, I recommend trying a different network, or updating using iTunes. You'll find the steps to update via iTunes here: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.


As a side note, it's a good practice to make a backup before installing any updates: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
