update unavailable with this Apple ID

Recently purchased my first Mac. I went to the App Store & saw 5 apps needed updating. I clicked update. It says "Update unavailable with this Apple ID This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or canceled. It's the Apple Apps GarageBand, Pages, keynote, numbers, and iMovie. Please help!

MacBook Air (2018 or later)

Was this a used computer? If it is, some of the software was purchased by the previous owner and if you want copies you will have to buy them under your Apple ID. Delete the current versions and buy the current versions under your ID.

Contact Apple about it (this support feature is for users to help users and we are not Apple). Or maybe it doesn't really make a difference since the applications are apparently now free and you can just delete them and download them under your ID as dialabrain suggested.

You did buy this from their new selection and not from the refurbished area?
