XR screen scratches easily

ive had the exact same problem. I’m not one to be rough with my phone at all, and I’ve had many many apple products, but never once experienced so much scratching on the screen. It seems like every time I pick it up it has a new scratch. Some deeper than others. The other day I put both my phone, and my friends phone in my pocket, and low and behold, my phone came out with a scratch that might aswell just be a crack, and his phone came out fine (he has a 6, and I have an XR)

I have the same problem. I gave up my 6s for an XR. I've had the 6s for 4 years. In 2 days my new iPhone XR had a tiny scratch on it, and I've been really careful. These things are defective and Apple won't even replace the faulty glass. What is going on here? I'm returning mine.

Yeah it’s very strange. Again, these “dots” are not scratches. They are tiny pinholes almost invisible unless you look closely. But enough to be bothersome. The funny thing is that a .99 cent screen protector I’ve been using is stronger than the actual phone screen. And it’s always in the same spot. Right where I would use my right thumb to scroll

I’ve has multiple android phones. I’m a bit of a phone junkie and I have not had an android phone scratch so easily in years. I’ve had my phone without a screen protector and tools in my pocket and very minimal scratches. Funny too that almost everyone I see with and iPhone they have a cracked screen or major scratches.

Exactly! I carried my 6S in my pocket WITH change FOR YEARS and didn’t get ANY scratches whatsoever, but then I got iPhone XR and literally put few serious scratches WITH PLASTIC! I don’t how I managed by the phone screen scratched BY PLASTIC and not even by metal. The lack of glass quality is astonishing.

Screen scratches very easily. Had an iphone 6 for years with no visible scratches. Had this item a month and scratched. Considering the price, you would think things would be better not worse.

Went to apple store today. They wound not fix a scratched screen with Apple care. Only a cracked one.

Yes! I just had an exactly same issue. I literally scratched my iPhone XR screen with PLASTIC! I don’t how that’s possible but it happened.

I had several iPhone models over the past 10 years and non scratched as easily as my new iPhone XR. It had a minor drop, I didn’t think much of it, but when I looked at the display I was surprised how badly it was scratched.

The same happened to me! I have had several iPhone's and did not really care for the screen protector since I am very careful with my phones. Having XR for a month, I already have 2 scratches, one deep and the other one very small. I don't even know how it happened. I am very disappointed with the quality! if you don't have an iPhone insurance, you would have to pay $200 to fix it. The phone is not cheap to start with and there is no support from Apple on this manufacturing error.. will not buy it again!!!!

This is my first Iphone in a long time. I've had all android phones until getting the Xr. I've had screws and tools in my pocket with some of my android phones and not a scratch on the screen, even without a screen protector. I'm very disappointed in the screen strength on the Iphone, so much so that I will probably leave again for the Pixel 4. Complete trash in my opinion for such an expensive phone.

Same thing here. I took out my screen protector for one day because it was cracked. And before I could put another one on there is a long scratch. Hardly noticeable but defintitely bothersome. This is also my first iphone. Very disappointed.

Is Apple going to say/do something about this? I think this is very absurd. We all got a very expensive phone, in part because of it esthetics, and we all get scratches out of nothing! It is ridiculous. I feel I’ve been scammed.

The patented Dow Corning glass (pyrex?) (gorilla glass) is so tough why do you even want a protector?

I made the same mistake - installed a flimsy glass protector on a screen that i'd never has scratched. se la vie.
