FIX: How to force sync  watch?

My wife’s Apple Watch was not syncing the steps in the activity app to the Health app. The numbers were simply not matching. After searching the web and forums we did not find a satisfactory answer but this is how we finally fixed it - in case it helps somebody out there .

Apparently it basically had to do with the sort order in the data sources that appear in the health app. We put the Apple Watch as the first option in the order of the data sources. To do that, we opened the Health app >> selected “Steps” >> selected “Data Sources & Access” >> selected the “Edit” option at the top-right section of the screen >> Selected the Apple Watch in the DATA SOURCES section and moved it to the top >> killed the Health app on the iPhone and made sure the Activity app was not running on the Apple Watch >> turned both, the iPhone and Apple Watch to airplane mode >> turned the iPhone off airplane mode first >> checked in settings>Bluetooth that the Apple Watch was not connected >> turned the Apple Watch off airplane mode and checked that it was connected through Bluetooth to the iPhone >> opened the Activity app and Health app and lo and behold the data was finally synced!!!

I hope this helps someone out there in case they are experiencing the same symptoms!
