Page to enter password for hotel wi-fi does not load on MacBook Pro running Mojave 10.14.2

When trying to enter the password to sign on to wi-fi in a hotel on a Mac running Mojave (10.14.2), I received the window below indicating that "A problem occurred. The webpage couldn't be loaded." I tried shutting down and restarting, turning wi-fi off and on, but the problem continued. I was able to enter the password and sign on to the wi-fi with my iPhone X running iOS 12.1.2, though it took a while to complete. Appreciate any suggestions how to solve this problem.

I don't know why the "captive network" login screen isn't working for you, but needless to say, if you are using any non-Apple "anti-virus", "cleaning", or "Internet security" junk, anything at all in that broad category of useless garbage, don't. A lot of things won't work if you do.
