Superdrive

I've been using the superdrive for years (to read and write dvds) on an iMAC, currently on Mojave 10.14.6. For the past two days the empty disks I insert won't appear on the desktop. I've tried different USB ports. I've tried a couple different brands of disks. I've checked preferences and system settings that I can think of. Previously burned disks appear but unburned disks do not. When I insert the blank disk everything sounds right and I get the dialog box that asks what I would like done (open finder) I click ok then nothing. Anyone know how can I fix this?

There's a known bug in Mojave. It doesn't display blank disks. Create a burn folder, add the files, right/control click on the folder and choose "Burn…" from the contextual menu.
