App Store hangs

App Store Version 2.4 (658.1)

OS X 10.13.6

Macbook Air 11 inch Early 2014

When I try to update some seven programs, App Store just hangs. I force quit, reboot, try again, the same problem persists. I do not have the problem on my desktop or phone.

Any suggestions, or should I wait for the people to come to work on Monday?

MacBook Air (2018 or later)

Hey there, coenvanwyk!

I definitely want you to be able to have all the latest features for the apps on your Mac.  I’d like to help!  To start, I’d recommend updating the macOS to the latest version using How to update the software on your Mac.  After completing those steps, if you’re still experiencing this behavior, I’d recommend using How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac to see if we can isolate this further.

If you’re still experiencing this behavior and you’re using a work computer, you may want to reach out to your IT department for further assistance.

Circle back with the results.

Take care!

Hi Brendan,

Not really easy to update if I cannot access AppStore, no? I have the Mojave on the desktop, but am reluctant to install it on the laptop, because the bloatwere makes it slow and it might fill my memory. That's for later. You would have seen whjat I have on then laptop, which should be sufficient. Not sure how installing another account on the laptop would have changed things.

However, I found another thread about a similar problem, and cleared the caches ( a decidedly Microsoft operation) and it seems to have resolved the matter.
