iOS 12.1.2 iPhone 7+ keeps dropping WiFi

Recently, my iPhone 7+ running 12.1.2 keeps getting bumped off the Wi-Fi when I close the phone. When I pick the phone up to use it, it shows LTE rather than the Wifi symbol and I have to go into settings and reselect the network in order to get back on Wifi. I have not had this problem before and have been using this phone for over a year. No other changes in the house or the phone other than recent updates. This happens at home and at work where wifi is my normal connection method. No other wireless devices on the network at home nor the office are dropping due to network issues and I haven't found anyone else having this issue but most don't have iPhone 7s...

Please do not recommend If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won’t connect to a Wi-Fi network - Apple Support as it is not helpful and does not address my issue.

Thanks in advance.

I have the same issue, in 2 locations, with numerous iOS devices (including XS). The issue is the BGW210-700 router by Arris. There is something not exposed in settings (MTU? WMM?) that drops Wi-Fi connection to iOS, and devices need to renegotiate when you take them from 'sleep' mode.

I recall a similar issue with an Asus router some time back that was fixed with a (Asus-!) firmware, and was related to low power mode. I doubt Arris/AT&T will be quick to respond to that one... :(

Am on Gigabit Fiber with AT&T, also with this router.
