MacBook Pro crashing multiple times a day

My MBP keeps crashing when I'm running more than 1 program at a time.

For example, I was working in Photoshop with Safari open. My computer seized then shut down.

Usually, everything freezes, the fans run at max speed for a split second, then click - the computer shuts off.

Specs:

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013)

Running High Sierra 10.13.6

2.3 GHz Intel Core i7

16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048 MB

Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

I've seen others request EtreChecks, so here's mine:

I took my MBP to a local Apple support shop. They diagnosed the problem as follows:

This model of MBPs sometimes crash when the processor drops below a certain level. Exactly as I described, the fans rev up and the computer clicks off.

The sollutuon:

They installed some software that keeps my laptop processor from dropping below the threshold that makes it crash.

So far so good. No crashing since I picked it up. The downside is that due to the processor constantly running, my battery life will be affected. I rarely use my MBP on battery alone, so it was a fair trade for me.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to comment!

To trouble shoot further you can:

Try a SafeBoot  https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

Takes noticeable longer to get to the login screen, does a 5 minute disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches, dynamic loader cache, etc. get cleared and rebuilt.

This test will tell you if third party interference; extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.

Test issue in another user (or guest user) account  https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204443

This will tell you if it a universal issue or isolated to your user/admin account.

Currently in Safe Mode. It did take a little longer to get to the login screen, but it booted almost immediately.

Should I be trying to recreate the crash in Safe Mode?

No. Restart as normal.

Will take some investigation on your part:
