Jeep Uconnect update

Trying to update my GPS maps on my 2015 Wrangler. The Garmin/Jeep website says the upgrade is "Mac compatible". If you go to the UConnect site, it says you have to upgrade your software first. So I entered my VIN, and was asked to download a file, which is unfortunately an EXEC file. Macs cannot open EXEC files, to my knowledge. So I phoned the UConnect people, not really thinking that they would know what to do, and they didn't, but promised to "escalate" my inquiry. My prediction: they will say it has to be done on a PC. I will ask why it says "Mac compatible" on the website, and the answer will be "I don't know". Frustrating. Anyone with any suggestions?

They also don't tell you that apparently it doesn't work with Sandisc USB drives.

Did you follow the links to where it says to format the USB drive FAT?

If it still does not work I think you'll have to contact their help.

The UConnect is the software in the vehicle itself that I'm trying to update. I wasn't aware that there is something for the phone, but that seems to be a different animal. Also seems to be a POS judging from the reviews.

Does anyone know how to update the car software? It gives me an exec file, which doesn't work on a Mac.

What has this got to do with Mac compatibility? All the instructions say is to get the update onto your USB drive.

Appreciate your efforts to help. The first site takes me to where I started, and lets me download an un-openable file. The second site gives me this response: "This information is either coming soon, not applicable, or no longer available for this product."

When I try to update the system, it gives me an exec file, and says we have to expand the file before plugging the USB into the car system. To my knowledge, Macs cannot expand exec files.
