MacBook Pro cannot download any apps or files

Every time I try to download Spotify it says it is damaged. I had enough I tried to download Chrome to download Spotify but my MacBook keeps telling me every file is .dmg. This is annoying! I just want to download my files and Spotify. It is like my safari isn't working.

Hmm... not sure if I fully grok the probem. a chrome.app download is going to be a .dmg

You should always have more than on browser on your machine for trouble shooting if for no other reason.

Your browser is how you reach out to the internet.

If this is a Safari problem (?), you can download using the command line in the Terminal.app in your Utilities folder.

For Chrome, copy and paste:

curl -o Desktop/Chrome.dmg -R https://dl.google.com/chrome/mac/stable/GGRO/googlechrome.dmg
