Notes opening by default when unlocking iPad?

I have recently purchased the iPad Pro and everything is fine but there’s just one thing that keeps happening and is pretty annoying. Every time I open the iPad after it has been locked for a while it automatically goes on to notes, it’s as though I have been on the app and just locked the iPad whilst still on it... which I haven’t. I used notes after setting it up to play around with the Apple Pencil and ever since it’s as though notes open by default.

The only apps I really use (I’ve only had the iPad for a day) are Adobe Sketch, Adobe Draw, Photoshop Express and Photoshop Mix whilst linking up to my MacBook Pro. As always, before locking the iPad I swipe up and end apps so there are none in the background. So notes has never been used again since I set the iPad up and played around with it.

Not or sure why this is happening, the iPad is brand new and nothing else is wrong with it. Im aware this isn’t a huge issue, just a bit of a pain.
