Olympus TG 5 Raw Files import: how?
Is there any way to import Olympus TG 5 camera raw files?

The RAW format for this camera is not on the list of supported RAW formats.
See: Digital camera RAW formats supported by iOS 12 and macOS Mojave - Apple Support
To use them Photos for Mac use the software that came with your camera to develop the RAW files and save them in another lossless format, for example TIFF. Then use the TIFF files in Photos.
If the free Adobe DNG converter supports your camera, you could convert the RAW files to DNG. That will give a better compression: https://supportdownloads.adobe.com/product.jsp?product=106&platform=Macintosh
On the Adobe RAW page I am seeing the Stylus Tough TG-5 as supported, if that is your camera. https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html

Just for the record, Olympus has released a new RAW developer called "Olympus Workspace"
https://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/62235173
It is supposedly better than Olympus Viewer 3.
You can also get the Olympus RAW converter, which works OK.

That is because it is called Olympus Viewer 3.
Thank for your suggestions. The camera is not supported also by Adobe!
Very bad.
I'm starting to hate Mojave and Apple because supported devices are limited. This is the second one that I lost because of the software update.
Developers should work on it. Very disappointed!
Ok, thank you!
it is so sad to see how apple is going backward.
I mean...I left windows because the entire system (hardware and software) apple was useful without using third part app.
Now I have a computer full of apps when in the past it was only sufficient to connect a device to see and work with it.
Now every one has to check compatibility before to update the computer and before to buy a new device.
HORRIBLE by apple
tks again fro your help
Ok,
believe me or not: I had no problem since last 2 years.
I use Raw format since at least 8 years. Never had to use different software...
Now I've lost the scanner/printer management so I have to use a third part software, I have to use another software other than Photo that I always have used.
I will continue to update my software until I'll become tired of apple. Then I'll return to windows...
sorry, but the TG-5 is on the market since 1 year and it's strange that apple did not update this kind of file ( if they will...update!)
however, many thanks for your help
Thank you so much for your reply!
I Appreciate it.
The problem that apple is no more all inclusive of drivers, file reading and managing remains unsolved, at the moment.
It's true, I'm normally Canon user so never had a problem in the past. But also I have a Samsung multi function printer that now I can only use with a special software...
I hope IPhoto could read shortly Olympus Raw file so I can only work with one software.
Apple has *never* supported every RAW format in existence. You just picked a camera that did not make the cut. Probably because it was so different than the Tg-4.
The problem is even worse than you indicated. Since RAW updates only come with OS updates, once you can no longer upgrade the OS on the computer you can not get raw support for new cameras.
Hello,
unfortunately nothing is contained in your link or on the web about the Olympus RAW converter...
You did not say which cameras, but if they are Canon's or Nikon's, they are all supported fairly quickly. As you move down the ladder RAW support becomes increasingly more unlikely.
