Deleted iCloud files not showing up on the website as recoverable

I was working on my MacBook Pro and needed to clean up one of my iCloud folders to make space to continue working. In the process I accidentally deleted an entire folder that contained about a years worth of previous work. I logged into iCloud.com to recover the file and the folder or individual files are not showing up. I checked both methods that I could find when searching how to recover files. 1) In the actual folder/ Then selected 2) Through settings/ Restore Files option and let it search for what is recoverable. Is this just a latency issue and they will appear in a few hours when everything syncs or did something go wrong and I lost a years worth of work?

I have checked in the "Recently Deleted folder" in the iCloud.com icon and nothin is listed as recoverable. I have also checked in my photos folder (thats where the folder was located) and it isn't listed there either. I also read that there was a way to recover files from the settings icon under Advanced/Restore Files. Same deal, nothing listed.

The exact thing happened to me. I deleted files off my phone yesterday and they aren't in deleted folder on my phone, Mac or on iCloud restore. I have searched for the files by name but they are gone. I have lost a very valuable powerpoint and need to retrieve it ... by all accounts in should be in the restore folder but it isn't.

I do not have time machine setup unfortunately. I did download a program that would scan to see if the files were still accessible on my hard drive but it is only scanning for lost volumes not files.

Again, files deleted from iCloud Drive would be in the Recently Deleted folder.

Well, something isn't right, then. The Recently Deleted folder will keep anything you have deleted from iCloud Drive for 30 days unless you go into that folder directly and delete the items permanently from there. So, it sounds like maybe you moved the files rather than deleted them?

See if you can do a Search in the Finder for a keyword. Do the search on your entire computer - click on the HD or the Mac name.

Go to the iCloud Drive icon on iCloud.com (via a browser on your computer). You should see a Recently Deleted folder there. All recently deleted files are kept there for 30 days.
