imovie 10.1.10
how do you make the timeline section wrap to the next line?
how do you make the timeline section wrap to the next line?
Thank you Rich, I will have to live with it. I shoot sports, specifically lacrosse and I shoot and edit the entire game. I read one post where someone was saying they could not get 10.1.10 to edit a long movie. Mine are usually 55 minutes to 1.05 do you happen to know if this new version of iMovie will edit an hour long movie? I assume it will and I will have to try it and get used to the long timeline display. Again, I appreciate your help!!! Any additional help would be welcome.
I wanted to follow up though, I do think that one of those versions of iMovie I have on backup is not in the 9.xx series. I think it is a 10.xx of some nature. Is it possible to drag and drop an older version of what you have in Time Machine to your Mac and give it a try? By the way I am using a mid 2011 iMac with an I7 processor and 8GB of ram. I also have an old version of iMovie 6 that used to work quite well but I assume it won't work either.
Any suggestions you might have could help. I have been doing sports videos for over 15 years of my local lacrosse teams and I will have to find something I can edit with. When I decided to upgrade from Mavericks I had no idea it would reduce my capabilities rather than improve them. I guess apple is geared toward mobile devices and I just don't use them. My desktop is my main tool for getting things done not my phone or tablet.
Thanks again!
iMovie 10.1.10 can pretty much edit a movie of any length, as long as you have sufficient computer space. As long as iMovie 10.1.10 works on your computer, there would be no advantage to reverting to an earlier iteration of iMovie 10.

I must confess my laziness because I have imported a good sized AVCHD files and it appears to be working pretty much the way the earlier version worked under Mavericks. I guess I will now spend the time to edit one of the games I shot last year and import and edit the entire movie, I might even load it to Vimeo where I put my videos for the players. I hope all goes well and If I have any problems I will be back. Thanks for your help sir.
You are very welcome.

Thanks, I had looked everywhere and had not found it, so I figured as much. Do yo u happen to know if I can restore a backup copy of the previous version it will work? I don't even remember what it was, I was using Mavericks 10.9.5 and I don't know what version I had. I have 9.0.4 but that is now what I was using in Mavericks. Well anything you can help me with I would appreciate.
Unfortunately, iMovie 9 won't function on High Sierra or Mojave. So unless you have an older computer with a operating system prior to El Capitan, as a practical matter iMovie 9 won't be available to you.
A linear, non-wrapping, time line is what professional video editors use. Of course that doesn't help if you don't like it. You might consider using it for awhile to see if you like it better after getting used to it.

Unlike iMovie 9, iMovie 10 does not have the wrapping feature.
