iMovie Question About Timeline

In the timeline area where the vertical white/yellow line matches the current playback position, it slides to the right as the movie plays. Is there a way to keep that line in the middle? There was a way to do it in past iMovie versions but I don't see it anymore. Thanks!

Yeah, I liked the stationary playhead in iMovie 6. However, I have heard that professional movie editors prefer the moving playhead. So, one person's dislike is another person's preference, it seems. Sort of like the debate as to whether the toilet paper should peel off from the front of the roll or the back of the roll. A matter of preference. 😊

Well, you still have the choice, if you want to part with $59.95 on ebay. The link below offers iMovie 6 as part of an unsealed iLife 6 package. You would need to be running Mojave or earlier on your Mac.

Downloading iMovie 6 can be a little tricky. So no guarantees. However, others have been able to download it. I am running it myself on Mojave. If you decide to go the iMovie 6 route, post back for some instructions.
