move icons on home page

I recently got an iphone6. The home page has a pink icon which is a file with the calendar in it. I want to display the calendar icon on the home screen, not in this pink file. However, when I swipe to take out the calendar, it will not move. I also want to delete the file folder icon altogether. (I know how to drag the wiggling icons from one page to anther but it does not work here.)

2) On the 2nd home page there is a file called Utilities which contains 4 icons including the calculator. When I swipe the calculator to move it to the previous page by itself, the entire file moves. Then when I hit home, the file pops back open with all 4 icons still in it. How can I move the calendar icon alone to the 1st home page?

Tap and hold on one icon until they all start to shake. Tap on the "folder" to open it and view its contents if its not already opened. then drag one icon outside of the folder area and hold it there for a couple of seconds until the folder closes and you are left with the icon over the normal home screen, then you can drag it to where you want it. Remove your finger from the screen to set it down.

There is no swiping required outside of scrolling through the home pages, or moving through the folder pages.

There's no specific colors for folders. Folders will take on whichever color is in the wallpaper they are placed over.
