Has anyone used FCPx 10.4+ to edit 360 videos from the Insta360 One X camera?

I just purchased the “Insta360 One X” camera and was wondering if anyone in the community has used FCPx 10.4+ to edit the video files from this camera and if “yes” could you share your thoughts regarding the experience and final product? I have heard that the app for this 360 camera can only be used on your iphone or iPad - not on an iMac or MacBook Pro.

Thank you in advance for your response.

Yes you can!

  1. Import the 360 degree footage and drag it onto your timeline. Then make sure the clip is selected.
  2. Choose Window > Show in Workspace > Inspector (or press Command-4), then click  in the Inspector.
  3. In the Inspector:
  • Make sure the 360º Project Mode pop-up is set to Equirectangular.
  • Make sure the Stereoscopic Mode pop-up is set to the mode in which the media was originally recorded.
