iPhone Xr with Apple Smart Charging Case

Hi folks, I just picked up the white Xr Smart Charging Case for my phone.

Unlike the Mophie cases I am more familiar with from my 5, 5SE, 6, and such this case has no "off" mode.

I notice that the charge icon for the phone is constantly marked as "charging" with the little lightning bolt over the battery icon.

I've heard that it is bad to keep the phone constantly charging, and I have read that the case is "smart" to know when to stop charging... but mine hasn't stopped!

Is this something I should worry about?

Can I damage my battery by keeping the case on (and charging) all the time? I had intended on this replacing my Otterbox Defender as my daily driver case.

Thanks!

Mike
