How do I stop safari searching from the address bar?

If my url is not found then I want a nice simple message ... nothing is to be passed on to any search engine.

In Safari Preferences : Search panel, uncheck everything.

Why does Safari not always use the search engine? Hi!This happens to me very often, just don't get the chance to ask. Whenever I use the url/search bar on the top of Safari, it occasionally sends me to the actual URL rather than a Google search (and this happens with any search engine).
