Why am I finding random pictures from my phone in the applications of my mac?

I looked up "screenshot" in the applications section of my mac and found 100+ "screenshots" from my Iphone. However, a lot of these are pictures that have been texted to me or snapchats that I never screenshotted, yet for some reason they are in my finder. This is slightly concerning as these pictures aren't and have never been in my camera roll. Someone please help.

There are options in these apps to save any photos.

For Snapchat

Launch Snapchat from your Home screen. Tap on the smaller white circle underneath the shutter button to access Memories. You can also swipe up anywhere on the screen. Tap the Camera Roll tab at the top of the screen to remove access your Camera Roll.

For WhatsApp.

Open WhatsApp on your iPhone or iPad. Once you are in WhatsApp,

tap on the Settings icon located at the bottom right corner of your

screen. On the Settings screen, tap on Chats. On the

Chats screen, toggle OFF the slider next to Save to Camera Roll.
