iTunes won't recognize iPhone 8 Plus

Hi,

I am trying to sync my iPhone 8 Plus to iTunes. I can click the phone icon in iTunes but it says "Driver not installed. iTunes is waiting for Windows Update to install the driver for this iPhone". I ran Windows Update and everything is up-to-date. When I go into the Device Manager, Portable Devices, right click Apple Phone and update driver - it states the "MTP USB Device" is updated. However, when I go back into Device Manager, Universal Serial Bus controllers, it is not located there. I cannot find anything that says "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver" anywhere either. I've check under Control Panel, Uninstall a Program and Apple is not listed. I uninstalled iTunes, restarted my computer, restarted my phone, updated the device several times and it still will not work. When I plug my iPhone using the USB, I check "allow this device" on my phone and a dialog box opens stating "This PC/Apple iPhone, Internal Storage"; iTunes does not open. However, when I open iTunes, I can see the phone icon. Can someone please help? Thank you!

When I update the driver, and browse my computer for driver software, the location is C:\Program Files (x86)\Realtek\NICDRV_8169\win10. There is not anything that says Apple Mobile Device USB Driver. When I use that location (only option), and click next, it gives me the same message "the best drivers for your device are already installed" and lists MTP USB Device.

I've checked your links and everything states finding Apple Mobile Device USB Drivers, which is my problem because it's not there.

Hi turintest2,

I cannot get past #3. I've looked under Universal Serial Bus Controllers, Imaging Devices, Portable Devices and Other Devices and there is not anything that says Apple Mobile Device USB Driver. I can't find MTP USB Driver either. Under Portable Devices it says Apple iphone. I've right clicked Apple iphone and updated the driver. However it says "the best drivers for your device are already installed and it lists MTP USB Device but I can't find that in the Device Manager.

Also, I plugged my iphone into an old computer that does not have Windows 10 and iTunes works fine.

Thank you for all your help.
