I am running iTunes 12.6.5 on High Sierra as I want to control what updates go to my i-devices. Today for the first time, I'm getting error -8288 on all i-app downloads. The download seems to complete, but when the download finishes, this error appears. BTW, an iOS system update thru iTunes worked just fine.
What I have done: Restarted iTunes; Logged out of my account and logged in again.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I don’t believe Apple “fixed” the issue as such. More gave an insight into the account data glitch and a work around to solve the impact of the account being flagged. No one has posted as of today Tuesday 12th in this discussion saying the issue has spontaneously fixed itself and downloads of updates is now working. Please correct me if this is not the case.

Apple iTunes içi App Store ile çok az ilgileniyor. Arada sırada böyle problemler oluyor. Genellikle OS güncelleme zamanında. Çok üstelememek lazım. Senin yöntemine gelince: harici bir Ssd kurmak çok iyi. Doların pahalılanması ile 512 GB üstü mac bilgisayarların fiyatı araba fiyatlarıyla eş değer oldu. Ben de iTunes arşivimi Samsung’un external t5 ssd de depoluyorum.
I'd like to correct you...as I posted above, the apps started downloading again. I changed nothing on my side.
After someone posted in the other thread on this topic that they had success, I tried iTunes again. First, I downloaded a couple of smaller app updates (40-60MB). Once I saw those apps updated without issue, I downloaded 43 additional updates. No trouble noted.
Not saying it "spontaneously fixed itself;" it just works again.
Still no successful downloads, but now I'm getting error -416. The downloads are 0KB, but take the normal amount of time (in the downloads window) to 'complete'.
It’s seems the problem is across the board Mac and PC, so it doesn’t make sense to blame our tech. I think it’s Apple and only Apple
I have submitted a support request to Apple related to this. We shall see what they say.
Turingtest2, I've gone so far as to disable all security software on my Windows PC & still receive the same error. All started on the evening of 2/7 for me.
Same here: cannot afford to download 6 times the same app!
You could be right but some users have the same problems with El Capitan

You could try with Apple Configurator but it's a pain in the neck...

It can't very well be Gatekeeper, since it's happening on Windows. This is an Apple server issue.
Thanks a lot! At least we know now that someone at Apple is acknowledging it
instead of all the other support representatives denying that iTunes can download apps anymore
