iPhone X won’t turn on anymore

My iPhone was acting weird the other day after I got home from a day in the mountain snowboarding. I had a hard time turning it on and when it turned on the screen, I got pixelated lines across the screen. My thoughts was that perhaps the snow and the cold affected this, so I turned it off and left it in rice for about 12 hours hoping if it was water, it would get better. When I took it out of the rice it would not turn on at all. I tried plugging in a charger but still nothing. Since Apple advertise the iPhone X as IP67 water resistant I was hoping that insurance would cover it. But after reading about it, it seems like I’m out of luck. Should I bring my phone to a certified Apple repair shop? And if it is the water, how much will the repair be?
