camera or mic doesn't work on chrome on facebook

Hi,

I need some assistance, please. I'm trying to video call on facebook, in Google Chrome, and I get the message that either the camera or mic are not allowed.

I've video-called before, without having to install anything or give any permissions. In the meantime, except for automatic updates, I don't think there have been any. So it's hard for me to figure out why.

One last mention: I have edited the Chrome preferences and allowed the camera and mic, still nothing.

Looking forward to your answer, thanks!

In Mojave, an application that wants to access the camera or microphone has to have permission.

You should have seen a dialog asking you to allow access.

The allowed applications can be seen in System Preferences->Security & Privacy->Camera (or Microphone).

Unfortunately, there is no "+" button to add them there, so AFAICT it has to be the application to ask for permission.
