did text message forwarding break with ios 12.1.4 update?

I can send to another apple device; but cannot send to people on android now. (this is after the update on ipad and iphone) I did a reset of networking settings, turned imessage off /on, I removed the device from icloud and added it back in.

imessage and android not talking! I am unable to send text messages from my phone to Android phone users. They can send to me but I am unable to send or respond to them. Texting works for iPhone-iPhone messaging, but not from my iPhone to an Android device. I have seen instructions to turn on/off my iMessage and FT settings, but this has not fixed the issue.

Can’t send text to Android after 16.3.1 Since I upgraded software to 16.3.1 I can no longer send text to a non-iPhone user such as an android. My wife and I both have iPhone XR . Our iMessage settings are exactly the same. She can send to android but she has the old software not updated like mine. I cannot send, since I have a upgraded to 16.3.1.

never mind. i found it. it flipped where new imessages start from on my ipad. it flipped to use my icloud email instead of my cellular number.
