The drive is accessed directly and exclusively by its own app. The ipad will not show the drive anywhere else.

Open the Y-disk app on the ipad and look for it there.

This drive and app looks to be a dud.

On the U.S. App Store the description is all in Asian with a lot of negative reviews.

If you can, return this drive and look at these drives for iOS instead.

Someone mentioned, just recently, using on one these with an iPad that uses a wired Lightning cable from drive to iPad for faster data transfers of photos and videos.

And is the Touch also in a case? I was recently reviewing those kind of drives on Amazon and many of them had reviewers say you had to remove any cases to get the contacts to fit properly.

Except for the Apple Camera Connection kit, iOS has never supported external drives. This newer series of drives like the one you have is totally dependent upon the manufacturer's support so if you are going to use a different format you must ensure it is supported by the manufacturer.

Are you accessing the drive through Y Disk app? That may be the only app you can use to access it.

The Flash drive would need to be supported by the manufacturer. It may require software from the developer in order to work with iOS. Not sure what the format would be be and it could also be proprietary to the developer.

Using those kind of drives with an iOS device is really dependent upon the app support from the manufacturer. iOS itself does not support that kind of drive.

One common issue with those drives is if your device is in a case the drive may not be fully plugged in.

Have you tried using it on a device with older iOS (the older the better), just for testing purpose. I'm guessing that perhaps the Y-Disk app isn't compatible with the latest iOS.

Their app support link takes me to a non existent website. Doesn't sound like a good app to me.
