Screen time app - what is the grey?

I see a bunch of people asking this question and getting an answer that says the “grey” is everything else and to scroll down and they’ll see. I had my phone charging on a questionable wireless charger last night and hardly used it today and here’s what I got. I think the screen time app is therefore crazily inaccurate. My actual phone usage is under an hour today and it’s reporting 6 hours.

Hello, great question.

You can see below the graph it shows your top 3 categories.

Productivity, your top category, for example, would show up in dark blue. Social networking would show up in light blue and Health & Fitness would show up in orange.

The colors on the graph will show the top 3 categories in colors, and all other categories will show up in grey.

So this means if you use an app of any category other than what your top 3 categories are, it will appear as grey.

As for it showing more time than you expected, it may also be showing usage of your other Apple devices if you have any.

Hopefully this helps.

Did you look at the screenshot I showed in my post? I did not use my phone all night long. I only used my phone for under an hour yesterday. So I'm trying to figure out what the grey means. To me, this says the screentime usage count is wildly incorrect since it's telling me 6 hours and I only used my phone for 1. I'd like to figure out what the grey actually means so I can stop it from happening and get an accurate count.
