How to restore wifi connection for HP LaserJet printer?

I had to do some reconfiguration. In process I lost my wifi connection to HP LaserJet printer.

How do I go about restoring connection to the printer?

I have my wifi network and use Apple Time capsule as router.

Otherwise, I am lost how to go about this!

Printer Sharing is ON and says "can access my computer at: Me-MacBook-Pro.local"

but I don't know what this means.

Wi-Fi Direct Setup
Status = Enabled
Wi-Fi Direct Name (SSID) = DIRECT-f8-HP M203 LaserJet
IP Address = 192.168.223.1
Wi-Fi Direct Password = 12345678
Wi-Fi Direct Channel = 6
Connected Clients = 0

That's a breakthrough.

What you have to do next can be a little confusing. On your Mac's menu bar, click the Wi-Fi icon. There should be a network with the name corresponding to that printer's Wi-Fi Direct Name (SSID): DIRECT-f8-HP M203 LaserJet. Select it.

If you connect to that network, it will take you to that EWS page. You may be prompted for its password, which is also shown as 12345678. Once you can finally load that page, you should be able navigate through whatever options appear on it for the purpose of changing its IP address from whatever it is (192.168.223.1) to what I suggest: something like 10.0.1.100 would be a good idea.

While you do that, bear in mind your Mac will not be connected to the Internet. It will be communicating only with the printer. Nothing else.

When those changes are finally input, accepted, and applied (using whatever terminology it uses for "apply") you will then be disconnected from that webpage. In other words it will appear to become unresponsive because that page no longer resides at its previous address. The EWS page may or may not warn you that is what is going to happen, but when it happens, click your Mac's Wi-Fi icon again and choose your usual wireless network. That will restore your ability to connect to the Internet as you usually do.

The printer may need a moment or two to restart.

Then, you ought to be able to type 10.0.1.100 in Safari's URL field, and the EWS page should reappear. Or, at your option, you should be able to use the HP Easy Start program that could not find your printer last time.

If something goes wrong then be prepared to repeat all the above, come back here and post a reply describing your status.

I followed directions on page 74.

Here is what the M203dw printed:

I do not see IP address or host Name on the Page!

When I type into Safari the Name "HP LaserJet M203-M206 Series" it takes me to a Google Search page.

The EWS page/website does not open! I see nothing on the Google search page about EWS website.

I will now go look at Step 4 more ways to find and add a printer.

What happens when you type 10.0.1.15 in Safari's menu bar? Does it load HP's EWS page?

Try the same with all the others, working your way back down, one by one, to 10.0.1.1.

If the EWS page never loads, then start with 10.0.1.16 and work your way up. If you get to 10.0.1.50 or so you're not likely to find it that way and I'll have to come up with something else.

Keep trying all the IP addresses higher than 10.0.1.16.

Having determined the HP Laserjet Color Printer CP1525nw's IP address, you can use that configuration page to change it to a static IP address. Determine if that web page offers a way to do that, and if you choose to do that, designate a static IP address that is not likely to be assigned by your Time Capsule. I suggest 10.0.1.100. That way, it's not likely to conflict with other devices on your network.

Then, delete that exiting printer in Printers & Scanners, and add it again by following Step 4 in more ways to find and add a printer. As it states, "You must know the network printer’s IP address or host name, printing protocol, and model number or printer software name."

But that's getting ahead of yourself, and I am not suggesting you should do it now. Reserve that technique for the HP LaserJet M203dw for when you find it, and for which you can designate 10.0.1.101 (for example). It may be worthwhile to investigate how to completely reset that printer to factory defaults... which I did not fully research from its documentation, but must be possible.
