Yellow triangles started appearing in lower right corner of every Aperture photo restored from Time Machine backup

Restored an Aperture 3.6 Library from Time Machine Backup on new iMac with Mojave 10.14.3. All photos restored as expected. But after a while, the photos in the restored Aperture Library had yellow triangles start to appear in the lower right corner. Eventually every photo has the yellow triangle on it.

Unable to export photos from Aperture Library because a message appears to “locate the missing original.” The Aperture Library came from an older iMac with Yosemite OS. There are no yellow triangles on the photos in the Aperture Library on the older computer. The Aperture Library migrates to Photos on the new iMac, with the exception of about 40-50 photos that did not migrate from the Aperture Library.

Has anyone seen the yellow triangle behavior? Any ideas how to fix this?

Are you running a Managed or a Referenced Library?

A Managed Library, is the default setting, and Aperutre copies files into the Library when Importing. The files are then stored in the Library package

A Referenced Library is when Aperture is NOT copying the files into the iPhoto Library when importing. The files are then stored where ever you put them and not in the Library package. In this scenario you are responsible for the File Management.
