Mac won't open Chromas software

I have downloaded Chromas (DNA sequencing programme) and cannot open it. I have changed my system preferences to allow for non app store apps to be downloaded and it still doesn't seem to be working. I click on the icon in the launchpad and nothing happens - anyone know how I can open it??

Since the software did not come from the App Store you should then contact the developers. Are you sure the software runs on a Mac? Have you tried launching it from the Applications folder rather than from the LaunchPad?

It is beta software, so it might not work on Mojave.

However, does the icon in applications have a little arrow on it? If so, you just have an alias, not the full file in applications. It cannot run from the DMG. For safety reasons - I guess - you are now required to hold the command key down when you drag it into applications.
