when opening a final cut pro X library backup is it safe to delete the original library file?

my main library was damaged. I could no longer open the project i was working on. If i did the whole program would shut down. After looking for a way to make it work i went into "file" then selected "open backup", this worked and I was able to now continue working from my new backup library file. The problem is now i'm running low on storage with two massive librarie files. I can see my original library weighs over 1 terabyte and the backup library weighs only 123GB. I want to delete the old library that I no longer need but I am not sure if it is safe to do so without affecting the backup library.

Select the backup library and check the media storage location and then consolidate it make sure everything is in the correct location.

Delete generated files to remove render and optimized media. These take a huge amount of space.
