Cannot configure the printer HP

Hi,


I need help to Re-connect to my printer HP LaserJet on macOS Mojave.

Recently bought the printer and successfully installed by downloading HP's software (HP Easy Start) and printed plenty of documents with no issues.

Today, I've tried to print some documents and Mac could not find the printer. Started following any troubleshooting provided by any blog on internet including HP's website/videos.

Key was to delete the printer through System Preferences and delete some folders from Library.


However, when I try to reinstall the printer I am returned these errors:

Cannot configure the printer.

An error occurred during the configuration attempt. Reset the device to its default settings, and then try again.


Tried couple of times, same error message every time.

Have you tried factory resetting this printer and setting it back up again? The printer's user guide should provide you with the steps to do so.


Regardless, you can also try these printer troubleshooting steps:

  1. Verify that you have the latest printer driver for your printer that supports macOS Mojave. You may need to download the driver directly from the manufacturer's support site.

  2. Perform a "factory default" reset on the printer.
  3. Reset the Mac's printing system.

  4. Enable the CUPS printer interface on the Mac.

  5. For network printers, verify if the printer requires the SMB protocol to share its printer queue over a network. If it does, be sure to configure it properly for your network. Note that some older printers do not support the later versions (v2 & v3) of the SMB protocol.
