Apple TV 3rd gen Netflix signing out after use

I keep having to sign back into Netflix after using another app on AppleTv eg Youtube. Once I have signed in it all works ok. But as soon as I leave Netflix then return it asks me to sign in again.

I have done a full reset but the same thing keeps happening.

Not sure if it’s related but my isp recently gave me a years subscription to Netflix, I had to login to Netflix and enter a promo code. The sign in problem seems to have happened at the same time.

Some research shows that Netflix believes the problem is due to two factor authentication as per this article... https://help.netflix.com/en/node/1894

They suggest sign out and in of Appleid on Apple TV, if that doesn’t work then contact Apple to disable Two-Factor Authentication on your device. My understanding is that it is not possible to disable Two Factor Authentication.

2 factor authentication is optimized for software not present on that model Apple TV. When attempting to sign in with your Apple ID you will need to enter the password and code together, however it's best to enter the password first and then request the code, in order to not exceed the time limit.

2 factor authentication can only be disabled if it was recently enabled on the account, within the first 2 weeks. Not only would it make an account less secure, but certain features would not be available as they require that extra layer of security.
