The issue of unresponsive and intermittently freezing iPad Pro models is frequently being reported within this community. This specific issue of hesitant/unresponsive touch-screen input reportedly affects all versions/generations of iPad Pro - but is unrelated to a separate issue of touch-screen insensitivity when using screen protectors on the latest 2018 3rd Generation iPad Pro.

The problem is known within this support community to affect iPad Pro models with iOS 11/12 - however, in the absence of a definitive workaround or fix, it is unknown if this is hardware or iOS issue. Apple have not commented or publicly acknowledged existence of a problem.

A recent report suggests that the issue may have been resolved within the latest iOS 12.2 beta. We are all waiting to see the final release version of iOS 12.2 - and eagerly await definitive feedback, from the user community, to conirm or refute efficacy of any fix.

The release date for the production version of iOS 12.2 is yet to be announced by Apple. However, if Apple follwo their usual pattern, we may see the public release of iOS 12.2 within a week of the Apple Event that is scheduled to occur later this month.
