I have iOS 12 on iPhone 7 and screen recording in my control center and audio doesn't record either with the mic on or off and vol up and ringer up any suggestion on how to fix? I have no updates and turning it on and off doesn't work.

Is your mic working using a different app (i.e. Voice Memo?)
If yes, keeping in mind that you can (using screen recording) record audio only using your mic for your voice or enviromental sounds, read carefully these instructions, at point #3:

If no, it could be a hardware failure. Have your device inspected at an Apple Store or Authorized Service Provider:

Long press on the screen recording icon and you'll see an option to turn the microphone on or off during a screen recording.
