Exercise Rings incorrect from Beach Body On Demand Workout
So for the last few weeks, my exercise rings haven’t been matching the workouts I’m putting in with the BeachBody On Demand app on my iPhone.
I’m using:
iPhone XS (iOS 12.1.4)
Apple Watch Series One (WatchOS 5.1.3)
Polar H7 Heart Rate Monitor (Bluetooth)
BeachBodyOnDemand (Version 2.17)
For workouts, I follow these steps:
Connecting the HR monitor to the iPhone via Bluetooth using iOS Settings.
Open BeachBody app.
Connect app to the HR monitor thru the in-app settings.
Select workout from the BOD app menu and begin.
Once the workout is complete, it goes back to the menu in the BOD app and normally within a minute or two, the Apple Watch vibrates, showing I’ve closed the Exercise Ring and then depending on the time of day, the Move Ring. Lately, despite a vigorous workout that lasts longer than 30 minutes, the exercise ring does not close. This occurs when I start the workout with the ring at 0, but also when I already have several minutes of exercise data recorded.
In the activity app on my phone and watch, it will register 33-34 minutes in grey (indicating data received from the BOD app), however the ring will only register 26-28 minutes.
I’ve been researching and reset the Fitness Calibration Data on my watch. I’ve also taken my iPhone on outdoor walks well in excess of the 20-minutes. All the “switches” in the Health app allow data to be read and written from the BOD app. And the workout data is stored in its entirety in the health app under workouts. This data shows a HR above 115 in excess of 30 minutes each time, yet the activity ring doesn’t close.
Ive tried closing and reopening the Activity app, Apple Health app, BeachBodyOnDemand app and also performed hard reboots on the phone and it still doesn’t update correctly.
I also know my HR is elevated above the usual “brisk walk” activity mentioned in many other posts because when tracking post Workout, my HR actually goes from resting rate to the mid 120’s in about 50-60 seconds. For those wondering, I’m specifically doing the Insanity Max 30 workouts. Anyone who has done these know you jump right in from the start with no “warm up” period. It stays intense for the entire 30 minutes and my HR has yet to drop below 120 that I’ve seen from this data.
I’ve run into this several times the last 2-3 weeks and have no idea why. I’ve been using the same app and workouts since January on this phone when I upgraded. Previously I used an iPhone 7 Plus with the BOD app, same HR Monitor and never had any issues.
Just curious if anyone had/has similar issues and what they might have done to correct it. I enjoy competing with friends in the activity app and it kinda sucks when this happens as some days my time is severely restrained with work.
