iTunes installation fails due to Apple Mobile Device Service not starting

I'm trying to install iTunes but it fails the installation when starting the Apple Mobile Device Service.

I have the 64 bit installer for my 54 bit windows and i am running it as an admin.

When I go to services in windows and try to manually start it then it fails. I clicked properties to see where the files were and it said it was stored in "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\AppleMobileDeviceService.exe" however this file does not exist and neither does the folder. The only folder in Common Files\Apple is called "Apple Application Support"

I've seen solutions saying to reinstall the driver from the files inside the AMDS folder but obviously if the folder doesn't exist then neither do the files.

Is it really not possible to just download the driver manually from anywhere?

I have tried connecting my iPhone to my pc and installing the drivers from there but windows says it has the best drivers for it, so i don't know what else to try

Windows, Windows 10

I got it installed and working. I'm not sure which fixed it but here's what i did.

I used the "Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility" from your second link to uninstall my half installed previous version that failed. Then i installed iTunes onto my laptop the regular way which worked fine. I then copied the 'C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support' folder from my laptop to my PC which i didn't think would work if I'm honest but it let the "Apple Mobile Device Service" start during the installation so it installed successfully.

I'm not sure if using the windows tool to uninstall it was what worked as i had uninstalled it from the control panel a few times before or if it was me copying the folder over, but either way it worked. It would be nice if apple would just let us download the drivers separately as I've seen a lot of people having the same issue online
