McAfee software scan says UNKNOWN ERROR RECEIVED FROM SCANNERS

I am on a MacBook pro, Mojave 10.14.3 When I try to scan with McAfee it gives UNKNOWN ERROR RECEIVED FROM SCANNERS 

It has been going on for years. I usually uninstall then install, it works for a few times then back to the same unknown error alert. My provider is Att u-verse and that community has the same problem with their macs.

Has anyone in the mac community had this problem?
