iPhone incoming calls ending with single side button press

I am used to of putting incoming calls on silent using side button, but to my surprise these days one single click ends the call, please suggest a solution

Use the Volume Down button.

iphone 8 plus can't disconnect calls Can't find a way to disconnect a call. Web has various solutions, none of which work. The latest I tried was to tap the 'slide button' on the right side, but that did nothing. Another said to swipe to the left and that didn't work either. Volume button won’t mute incoming calls I have the iPhone 11 and I used to be able to mute an incoming call without dropping it by pressing on the volume button once, but now if I try to do it it doesn’t work and just lowers the volume of the ringing. Is there any way to fix this?
