My safari history won’t clear

I wanted to clear my safari history, as it gets in my nerves when it isn’t clear. I went to clear it, however the button is greyed out, and I can’t press it. When I go to settings the clear history button doesn’t work either. Please help.

According to below linked article

When there's no history or website data to clear, the setting turns gray.

The setting might also be gray if you have web content restrictions set up under Content & Privacy Restrictions in Screen Time

Is Screen Time  Restrictions enabled?

Turn off  web content restrictions, if turned on.

Have your passcode ready.

Your Restrictions passcode is your Screen Time passcode.

Tap

Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions

Enter your Passcode.

Content Restrictions > Web content > Web content > Unrestricted Access

Tap “Unrestricted Access”.

Open Safari  and check.
